Part of my 2026 series, “To Minnesota, With Love…” - a visual love letter to the state I proudly call home.

The Skyride is a permanent fixture at the Minnesota State Fair. It’s one of the first landmarks you spot when entering the grounds and the place I always tell my kids to meet me if we get separated. A person can hop on board one of these tiny metal capsules and glide over the heads of thousands of fairgoers to make their way to the east end of the grounds. Then if you haven’t spent all of your money on Pronto Pups and Sweet Martha’s Cookies, you can make it a round trip and end up back where you started.
