My husband and I both work from home so it's not uncommon for us to regularly pass by one another on the way to various locations in the house. Inevitably, we stop for a quick embrace - or depending on anxiety levels, sometimes an extended hug is in order. For me, that moment of safety, calmness and love is enough to center me - making me feel connected to humanity and shut down to the madness of our lives. I call these moments "resets" because that's the best way I can describe how much it changes me.

In these days of stress and uncertainty, give someone a hug. Give a whole lot of hugs. I believe we’d be a much healthier society if we leaned into empathy and compassion.
