About the Artist
In my opinion there is no better therapy than spending an evening with a canvas and brush, a bunch of lovely oil colors, and some great music. Everyone should be so lucky to do so from time to time and I feel extremely fortunate to have spent the majority of the last decade doing just this.
I am often asked by people what it is that inspires me to paint what I do. When I relay the following answer, I’ve never heard, "Oh, I do that too". Strangely, it seems completely natural to me ... In the moments before I drift off to sleep each night, I see all of these little bits of color in my mind. In a sort of Tetris-like game, I put them together over and over until I fall asleep. Surely it is just my mind’s way of clearing itself for a good night’s sleep. However, the play of colors and composition are so beautiful and amazing that I’m drawn to recreate these images in my waking life. My current work is an attempt at that - putting together bits and pieces of color and texture to create a painting that is visually stimulating and appealing.
